Introduction
From the earliest times there was amongst Christians an appreciation of the fact that " the Gospel wrtten by four is but one Gospel" as the great apologist Origen of Alexandria ( 3 B.C.) phrases it. This naturally led to the idea of joining the inspired narratives for the edification of the Faithful in such a way as to form a unified and consecutive account of the words and deeds of our Divine Saviour.
This is a recording of one such Gospel Harmony compliled from the venerable Douay Version of the Bible by Fr J.M. Bover. S.J. , Professor at the Gregorian University, Rome, and published under the title "Jesus the Messiah" in 1928. It is read by Fr Edward Black.
